How to install and set up the Halloween resource

Follow these steps to get Halloween running correctly on your server.

  1. 1

    Download the resource

Extract the resource folder into your server's resources folder, e.g. resources/[more-scripts]/more_halloween, and install more_lib and oxmysql alongside it.

  2. 2

    Import the database

Run the SQL file backend/[SQL]/sql.sql in your database manager (HeidiSQL, phpMyAdmin, etc.). It creates the more_halloween_areas table of the zombie zones, with the Graveyard as the first one, and adds the halloween column to users (ESX) or players (QBCore). Run the zones block and only the block of your framework.

  3. 3

    Add the syringe item

The usable item that cures the zombie infection is syringe. ESX gets it from the same SQL block, QBCore needs it in qb-core/shared/items.lua with useable = true, and with ox_inventory it goes into ox_inventory/data/items.lua instead. If another script already uses syringe, set another item name in MS.Settings.item.

  4. 4

    Configure the resource

Open backend/config/cl_config.lua and set the shop position in MS.Shop and the rewards you want to give. Set sv_enforceGameBuild 2699 or higher in your server.cfg, because the pumpkin prop is a base-game prop since The Criminal Enterprises. The admin groups that may use the candy, outbreak, and zone commands are MS.Admin in backend/config/sv_config.lua, which only the server loads.

  5. 5

Start the server and create your zones

Add the ensure lines below to your server.cfg, in that order, and restart your server. Join the server and use the /halloweenareas command as an admin to open the zombie area creator and make your first zones. If something does not show, enable MS.Settings.dev_mode and check the console.

Load order matters

more_halloween depends on oxmysql and more_lib, so make sure both start first, and import the SQL file before the first start. A language of your own needs its line in fxmanifest.lua under shared_scripts, after backend/locale/de.lua.
