Troubleshooting

Common problems and how to resolve them.

Make sure oxmysql and more_lib are installed and start before more_halloween. Import backend/[SQL]/sql.sql before the first start: it creates the more_halloween_areas table and adds the halloween column to your users (ESX) or players (QBCore) table. Run the zones block and only the block of your framework. Restart the resource after every change in the config files.

The pumpkin prop reh_prop_reh_lantern_pk_01b is a base-game prop since The Criminal Enterprises. Set sv_enforceGameBuild 2699 or higher in your server.cfg and restart the server. The spots of the pumpkins are listed in pumpkin.lua, and MS.Pumpkins.collectTime is the time in seconds a player kneels to collect one.

The doors are the positions listed in doors.lua. The marker of MS.Doors.marker only shows doors within its distance that the player has not knocked on yet, and doors work without it too, so turning it off does not disable trick or treat. What a knock gives is set in MS.Doors: candies in MS.Doors.candy, jumpscares in MS.Doors.jumpscareChance, and fights in MS.Doors.peds.attackChance.

Walk up to the shop within MS.Shop.interactDist (1.5 metres by default); the marker shows from MS.Shop.drawDistance. The place is MS.Shop.position, so check that it fits your map. Reward pictures load from MS.Images, which points to ox_inventory by default: set it to the image folder of your inventory. A picture that does not load falls back to frontend/dist/items/<item>.png, so put the PNGs of your own items there. The item names in the rewards must exist in your inventory.

The cure is the usable item set in MS.Settings.item, syringe by default. It must exist in your inventory and be usable: ESX gets it from the SQL block, QBCore needs it in qb-core/shared/items.lua with useable = true, and with ox_inventory it goes into ox_inventory/data/items.lua. If another script already uses syringe, set another item name in MS.Settings.item.

The resource holds the clock at midnight, shows a thunderstorm, and switches to Halloween weather with lightning during an outbreak, as set by the three switches in MS.Settings.force (night, thunder, halloween). If your weather script should keep control of weather and clock, set all three switches to false and restart the resource.

The candy, outbreak, and zone commands only work for the groups set to true in MS.Admin in backend/config/sv_config.lua (pl, admin, superadmin, and god by default). Check that the group of the player is listed there, spelled exactly as your permission system names it, and restart the resource. The command names are set in MS.Commands, and sv_config.lua is only loaded by the server.

Outbreaks are tuned with MS.Outbreak.zombies and MS.Outbreak.spawnRate. For zombie areas, the radius, the number of zombies, and the spawn rate are set per area in the creator (/halloweenareas), within the limits of MS.Creator. The health and armor of the zombies are in MS.Zombies, and the infection is tuned with infectTick, infectDamage, and infectHits in MS.Settings. Enable MS.Settings.dev_mode while you test.
